We are in the beginning stages of building Dewachen World Peace Sanctuary in Costa Rica, while also hosting year round online and in-person events. This makes for a demanding schedule yet the blessings of working for the Dharma are tremendous.

Ideal candidates for the new positions would have a strong interest in Tibetan Buddhism, an altruistic motivation to serve, good communication, adaptability to change, self-motivated, organized, and reliable.  

Role Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated volunteer to join our team as a Video Editing Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for editing footage from retreats and talks by our Lama, transforming them into concise and impactful videos suitable for platforms like YouTube and other online channels. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for spiritual teachings and video editing to contribute to the expansion of Dharma wisdom and insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and condense video footage from Lama's talks into short, engaging social media videos .
  • Clean up recorded retreats or courses into presentable online recorded teachings/courses for our website.
  • Ensure seamless transitions, audio clarity, and visual appeal in the edited content.
  • Collaborate with the content team to understand the intended message and audience for each video.
  • Add relevant graphics, subtitles, and other elements to enhance the overall viewer experience.
  • Maintain a consistent style and quality across all edited videos.

Desired skills

  • Proficient in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
  • Strong storytelling skills and the ability to convey spiritual teachings effectively through video.
  • Attention to detail, creativity, and a keen sense of timing in video editing.
  • Ability to work independently while aligning with LDF vision and messaging.
  • Prior professional experience in video editing is preferred but not mandatory.

Time Commitment: Flexible, with an estimated commitment of 10 hours per month
