Event Overview

Join Drupon Lama Dorje of the Drikung Kagyu lineage in a 5 day immersion to listen, contemplate, and meditate on the 7 points of mind training. Ample time for questions, reflections, and integration in our pristine mountain environment at Drala Mountain Center will be provided.

Seven-point mind training is a timeless teaching on Bodhicitta from the great Master Atisha. Though these instructions are centuries old, they give us effective methods for practicing wisdom and compassion that are fresh and relevant today, both in sitting meditation and in daily life. This down-to-earth and practical method of mind training shows you how to overcome obstacles in your practice and how to be mindful of tricks of the mind. When done sincerely and diligently, these practices are verified to help, regardless of what is happening in your life.

In Tibetan, lojong means “mind training.” To turn the mind inward, learn to work with emotions and other ‘afflictive states,’ and train the mind to come back to its natural state of wisdom and compassion.

Understanding how to convert daily life, work and relationship situations to grow and develop loving-kindness towards all beings, these practices create notable change in your daily life and ultimately lead you to full awakening so that you may benefit others.

Train in the stability of mind that can transform any situation—pleasing or unpleasant—into the fertile ground of awakening true and lasting happiness.

Toward the end of your retreat you will be asked if you would like to make a heart gift to the teacher. In Tibetan Buddhism and other wisdom cultures, people often make heart gifts to those who have made receiving precious teachings possible. The heart gift is purely optional and based on personal inspiration and gratitude. The amount is not important, just your inspiration to give, connect, and explore the cycles of generosity and offering. Gifts can be made by cash, check or Paypal.
